Proven Web Design Process

NetSource is a professional web design and development company that staffs a team of qualified individuals. NetSource has the ability to work on both small and large web development projects because of our experience and range of skills. NetSource treats each project and client on an individual basis, and with each project we have new milestones and goals that must be met. Getting the highest quality results on web design and development projects requires a sound development process. Here is a general overview of the process that NetSource follows with each web design or development project we complete.

  • Netsource Initial Customer Interview

    Initial Customer Interview

The Initial Customer Interview is a free consultation that NetSource recommends to all of our clients. It can take place at our Chicago land location or we can come and visit you. The Initial Interview gives NetSource the opportunity to find out if a client will be a good match for our services and products. This phase is very important to both NetSource and the client because it should uncover the goals of the client and provide NetSource with an initial road map for the project. NetSource will always quote the price for the work before anything is ever signed or started.

    Requirements Meeting

The next step in the process will be to setup a requirements meeting. After NetSource has gathered enough information about a client's needs we will create a requirements document. This document outlines exactly what the project will accomplish and exactly how we will complete it. In the Requirements Meeting, NetSource will go over the details of the project with the client and answer all the client’s questions. As soon as the requirements document is finished and the customer has signed off on the work to be completed, NetSource will move to the next phase of design.

    Layout Meeting

A layout meeting will be scheduled when NetSource does any kind of graphical design work during the course of a project. During the Layout Meeting NetSource will sit down with the client and go over the graphical layout of the website and the pictures that are involved in the design. This meeting will give the client an opportunity to make changes to the "look and feel" of the project before we move into more detailed development. Once the customer signs off on the layout we move to the prototype meeting.

    Prototype Meeting

The Prototype Meeting was setup so that a client can see an early model of the work. Since the code has not been developed yet, the prototype doesn't include the full functionality of the application yet. What it will do is provide the client a sense of how the finished project will look, navigate, and function. This stage of the development process was created to generate dialogue between NetSource and our customers and solve issues before we commit to significant programming efforts. This step significantly reduces costs and increases quality. This meeting was designed to give the client another chance to go through the entire project with NetSource and verify that it's on the right track. This step may also include written design details in addition to the screens layouts depending on scope.

    Implementation

As soon as all previous steps are completed, both parties should be confident that we have a successful plan. During the implementation of the project NetSource will continue to work closely with the client so that any issues that come up can be handled before the deployment stage of the project. The developers will follow a plan so that they can meet deadlines and ensure a quality product for our customers. As soon as the project is completed, NetSource will review the development process with the client so that they are comfortable that they are ready for Deployment.

    Deployment

Deployment is the process of placing the code/project on a live server. While deployment is usually an exciting and nervous time for businesses, we know that our clients will be more excited than nervous. This is because NetSource has followed a plan that guarantees our clients are getting exactly what they asked for. NetSource knows that a business has a lot to deal with during Deployment and the last thing they need are issues to pop up at the last minute. This has been the key to NetSource's success since 1995 and the main reason we continue to grow in the web development / design field. NetSource holds a final review with the client just before deployment so we handle any final details before the site goes live.

    Maintenance

NetSource knows that a project may eventually need maintenance during its lifetime so that it can continue to be an effective tool. As a business changes, so too must the applications that help them operate. NetSource follows a strict methodology when developing applications so that future maintenance work can be completed effectively and efficiently. NetSource has been around since 1995 and will continue to help our clients maintain projects well into the future. This is just another reason to select a stable company who has experience with real-world applications. The process we follow and the incredible talent of our designers and developers puts NetSource at the top of the Chicago area's Web Design teams.
